Chantal: Date each other. Love each other. Be affectionate and spontaneous!

What traits do you think are necessary to sustain a lively and successful marriage?

DJ DURL: Communication! You are trying to bring two totally different lifestyles and beliefs together under one household. You have to be able to try to understand that your ways are not always the right and only ways.

Chantal: Communicate effectively, truly listen to what the other person is saying. Always be open and honest about your thoughts and feelings but learn to pick your battles. This is key.

How do you define “Black Love?”

DJ DURL & Chantal: Black love is the celebration of our ancestors. Black love is the revolution. We are stronger together than we are apart. Pure. Divine. Eternal. It’s the best kind of love.
